I have lost my boot password. In fact I don't remember that I put a password but because I didn't reboot my laptop since several weeks or months, I am not sure....

So, I contacted Tohisba but they ask me 100? to remove this password (not cover by the 3 years garanty)

So I would like to know if it is possible to remove the boot password on my Portege M200 by reinstalling the bios ?

So i figured that the bios checksu...

So i figured that the bios checksum is corrupted (As far as my knowledge goes by i guess it would be a short circuit in the vga card).

Anyhow, i need to flash my bios chip.
Since it does not boot and the only message on the screen is the error i described earlier in this post. I cannot retrieve the bios string by running some app.

The specs i have so far:

1. The mainbord is a chaintech (I guessed it beqause the logo on the Northbridge is from chaintech).

2. In height order : 1x AGP, 1x AMR (Modem port), 5x PCI, 1x ISA.
3. 2 USB 1.1 ports.
4. Prolly VIA VT82C686A chipset (Southbridge).
5. Socket 370 Proc.
6. 133 MHZ BUS (Since all the RAM modules are 133 MHZ).

I have two logic sources tied to control ports. I want a two input source selector to switch to input 2 when both control ports are engaged (AND logic block). I made a button on a custom panel that represents the state of the source selector. Low is input 1, high is input 2. Why can't I link the logic end to that button or the source selector?

It's a paging application where latching buttons are being used to select which zones will receive the page. The "page" button is momentary so that when the logic "AND" block sees both buttons hi, it will trigger the source select for each zone to go to input 2 which would be the page mic.

I saw in the help file that the Logic end must match the source select number of inputs + 1. I did that and still no luck.

O WRT54-G na sua interface wireless tera um ip dessa mesma classe, 200.200.200.100, com gateway 200.200.200.1.
Na interface do switch vc. dara um IP de rede privativo 192.168.1.xxx e, os clientes do condominio terao ip?s dessa classe com o gateway o ip 192.168.1.1 que e da interface ethernet.
E assim que esta funcionando para nos.

I want to find the manual of the motherboard from this laptops, so I could find out if there is a combination of keys that I can press to boot the laptop directly from the cdrom. I read that some boards have a combination of keys that my enable the boot from cd drive even if no bios is present... (mine's quite.... damaged from a defaulty flash and I've got no floppy drive to do the boot recovery)
So any help would be appreciated

I'm a PC reseller and was doing some maintenance on a customer's PC, including BIOS update ... damn it !

the mobo is Soyo SY-6VCA, had BIOS v2AA1 and wanted to update to v2AA5... so I got the BIN file from the FTP and flashed it with AWDFLASH 8.20...... dead!!!!

only bootblock shows up, saying "BIOS ROM checksum error" and AWDFLASH cannot recover, it says something like "BIOS was not new AWARD, please update ROM BIOS first"

tried even UNIFLASH.... it says write error in every case: with the original BIOS backup (with or without bootblock) and with the last version (with or without bootblock)

at the end I suspect the flash chip to be defective.... but it worked fine before my attempt to update....!!!!!

I NEED HELP !!!!
