Yes I did try to clear CMOS. At least I think I got it right. I just bridged the CMOS two pins and powered it up. But even with the "CMOS reset" pins bridged the beeps were there and at same count(7 beeps). Then I removed the bridge(if that what is called?!) Same result again
Alright, I dropped the identification issue, just removed the kobian.bmp from the BIOS files with CBROM and flashed. All is fine now.
Maybe I'll aquire some BIOS reverse engineering skills someday to take a closer look at the code, to see that if BIOS of P6IPAT is indeed compatible with 815ep TFSX. Just for curiosity's sake
Update: This morning I decided to give it another shot. Bingo! TW815EPS-T is exactly what I am looking for. BIOS modules except some strings are all the same. Odd that Google didn't come up with that answer.
Sounds like it, transfer the working floppy disk/floppy drive to your problem machine. If that doesn't work the floppy controller on the board is gone and it's time for a replacement board...

if it's an award bios you might be able to. if it's a phoenix bios, you're out of luck. So, first run the bios agent and reply with the ID string it finds.

Motherboard: P6-BDX
BIOS: 07/15/1998-I440BX-W977-2A69K42AC-00
THANX FOR EVERY REQUEST OR HELP......
Thanks for the tips, but it looks like I may not need them! I finally got Epox TW to ask Shuttle TW for their solution and am using a BETA Bios right now that has been stable for 31 hours. Turns out it was a chipset BIOS issue and it looks like the ACPI table and awardext.rom were changed...
Did successful Bios update but now modem is not recognized by W-98, shutdown freezes, and Add New Hardware freezes. Reload W-98 - same result. Reload original Bios - same result. Used Aflash.exe. Asus
P5A-B MB had Bios dated 101999 rev. 1008 Award. Anyone have a holy hand gernade or know how to fix this problem? Thanks!
The size of the bios image should match the size of the EEPROM chip. If the size is different, then you are in trouble.
or:
It would be nice if the kernel was past 2.6.22 which has the ability for lm-sensors to read the temperature of the Core 2 Duo processor which is shipped with the Dragon 2.0 from StormLogic.
Plus the changes to rrd so it gets graphed automatically!
