They should each be exactly the same file size in bytes, as they are meant to fill the ROM exactly.
Both BIOSes at the site, UMC (tvx0619b.rom, 131071 bytes) and SMC (tvx1016b.rom, 131069 bytes) appear to be corrupt as I have downloaded them from the website....Zdnet archives have the same problem...which I/O chip do you have ? There are some old BIOSes around on the web but they don't say which I/O chip they are for.
Can you also save, zip and email me your present BIOS ?
The AMI flasher is linked to on the BIOS index page at www.Biostar.com.tw and also on the pop-up window which appears when you select Support/BIOS

How many MB is that Matrox card (4, 8, 16)? Been looking to check one of those out. If you would...could you download and run CTCM7 with the /VID parameter on it and post the data here (or e-mail me with it). Do this from DOS Safe Mode (nothing running but DOS). You can port the data to a file using >c:\data.txt (or whatever). Thanks.

I tried to install a 40 GB harddisk but it isn't recognized.
The Bios hangs at autodetection, it is not supporting
such large harddisks and the motherboardmanufacturer has no
Bios-updates to solve this problem.
